2011 Wedding Photography Review :: greensboro wedding photographer

Let me just start this by saying how incredibly blessed we were this past year. We worked with some awesome vendors, photographed at so many gorgeous venues, met, became friends with, and worked with INCREDIBLE photographers, and captured the weddings of the most AMAZING brides and grooms EVER.

We took a huge leap of faith this year with me committing myself to the business full-time, and we've succeeded beyond my wildest and craziest dreams. But I can't take any of the credit for it... it's all due to you and the tremendous love and support you've shown us in 2011. So, thank you. All of you. You truly mean more to me than you'll ever know.

It's been a busy couple of weeks, and unfortunately, the blog is the poor soul that gets neglected when the chaos ensues. Last week, Josh and I travelled to Tennessee to spend Thanksgiving with my family, and it was so nice to get to have more than just a weekend there. I know I say it all the time, but I love me some Nashville!

In our five day visit, we managed to pack in:

• a Predators hockey game
• baking four pies
• Thanksgiving dinner with my entire extended family
• our annual Skinner family Thanksgiving night viewing of Christmas Vacation (Surprised Eddie?... If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now)
• Black Friday shopping at Anthropologie (can you say DANGEROUS?!??)
• watching Elf on TV
• OFFICIALLY setting the Christmas music station as a preset on my XM radio
• more shopping on Saturday

AND, in addition to all that good stuff and despite some inconvenient rain and wind, we fit in a winter wonderland stylized wedding shoot, complete with lots of silver glitter and the most scrumptious cake pops known to man. Here's a little preview from the shoot...

brittany+jeff - engaged :: nashville engagement photographer

Brittany and I go way back to our freshman year at Belmont University where we were in the same sorority, so I was super excited whenever she hit me up to photograph her wedding next summer in Nashville. Not only is this an extra special event since she's a friend, but their wedding will also be at the Wightman Chapel at Scarritt-Bennett where Josh and I were married!

Brittany and Jeff met while in college at Belmont. He asked her out over a six pack of Dr. Pepper, and they've been inspeparable ever since. This summer, as they were both gearing up for their final year of law school (she at Ole Miss; he at the University of Tennessee), Jeff popped the question in the oh-so-romantic city of Charleston, and of course, Brittany said YES. 

For their Nashville engagement session, we started the afternoon hanging around Nashville's ultra hip Hillsboro Village area...

After stopping for some caffeine rejuvenation at Fido, we ventured up to Brittany and Jeff's alma mater. It has changed sooo much since I was there, and the campus is insanely beautiful. And of course, here's the mandatory law student photo... it's pretty much a requirement for two soon-to-be lawyers.

   

Seriously Brittany - you are GORGEOUS. This kinda fierceness could even put Tyra and the whole ANTM crew to shame.

Brittany+Jeff - It was great to have the chance to catch up with y'all, and I am honored that I get to be a part of your wedding! You two are absolutely perfect together, and I'm SO excited for your big day!
