afternoon drive :: greensboro photographer

With several engagement sessions coming up, I decided that it was time to go out in search of some new "go-to" locations. Several of my couples had requested barns, trees, and a more natural landscape in general but were worried about the setting being unattractive because of winter (i.e. dead grass, leafless trees, etc.).

So yesterday afternoon, with the temperature at a balmy 63 degrees, I set out in the VW with the windows down, my new satellite radio (shoutout to the Mr. for an awesome birthday gift) turned up, and the camera as my passenger. These are a few of the beauties I found within just minutes of our house. This was one of those days that make me so glad that I live in the South again.

There's just something about a weathered barn or old building that makes me giddy :) I can't wait to capture some of our couples in these beautiful settings!

alphabet letter gifts :: greensboro photographer

For months, our friend Brittany (of Mill & Brittany) has been talking about how much she would like to have their last name in photos. In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Josh and I had deliberated over what to give these great friends as a gift. Finally, the week before our holiday party, we decided that we would create one of these photo artworks for them. Because we didn't have time during the week, we ventured into Greensboro on Saturday, merely hours before the party (how's that for procrastination) to take some photos of letters of the alphabet.

What an adventure this was for Josh and me! Josh drove, and I yelled for him to pull over, turn around, or just stop in the middle of the road when I interpreted letters in the architecture, trees, and just about anything else we could find. I trekked downtown through feet of snow (okay, so maybe it was just a few flurries) to get the perfect shots. We had such a great time with this project! We rushed to have the photos printed, get a mat and frame at Hobby Lobby (one of my favs), and made it home just in time to get it wrapped before the party.

Needless to say, Mill & Brittany loved their gift! Here is the final result:

All of these photos were taken in Greensboro. Can you guess where they're from?

I think one of these personalized with a last name or monogram would look beautiful and so vintage in an antique white frame at a wedding reception. They also make excellent wedding shower gifts (personalized with last name or initials), baby shower gifts (personalized with first name or initials), or even a nice Valentine's Day gift (perhaps the word LOVE framed in red)! If you'd like to purchase a personalized alphabet artwork, please send us a message. Don't forget - Valentine's orders must be received by Friday, February 8.

Game Night & BBQ :: Greensboro Photographer

Hey there and welcome to our brand new blog! This blog isn't just about business; it's really about sharing little pieces of our life and art with you. As your photographers, we definitely want to know and capture your story, but we want to give you a little insight into our lives as well. We're so glad you're here and hope you enjoy what you see!

As you may have read on the About Us page, my husband Josh and I are huge fans of board games and food. We are lucky enough to have two wonderful couples and very dear friends who live within walking distance (no joke), so we invited them over last night for an impromptu dinner and game night.

In true North Carolina fashion, Josh and I cooked up some pulled pork BBQ, coleslaw (actually - this one was just dumped out of a container into a nice pretty bowl), and {wait for it} scrumptious blue cheese grits, courtesy of the Pioneer Woman's Tasty Kitchen.

After dinner and some lively banter, the six of us engaged in a game of Bezzerwizzer. This game is SO much fun, and we've become a just a little addicted to it. If you enjoy trivia (and are just plain terrible at card games like me), this one is definitely for you.

Unfortunately, the ladies lost this round... we have to let the guys win sometimes, right?
