krissie + kali :: greensboro wedding photographer

As I briefly mentioned in yesterday's post, we had the pleasure this weekend of photographing a stunning wedding at Bin 33 in Greensboro this weekend. This was the first wedding to be held at the restaurant, and let me tell you, this space is fantastic. (Thanks to Christina at Bin 33 for all of your hard work!)

This was one of the most gorgeous weddings we have ever photographed or even attended and having a wonderful bride and groom made it even better!

These tablescapes were so elegant - flowers by Designs North and design by Behind the Scenes.

Is that a good looking bunch of fellas or what?!

I wish I were lying when I tell you I got chills over these blue velvet Betsey Johnson shoes, but I'm 100% serious. Chills. Because of shoes.

You can tell that Krissie & her sisters are complete daddy's girls... so sweet.

As promised, the happy couple with their "4-life crew"....

Krissie and Kali - thank you for allowing us to share in one of the most important days of your life! You two truly are beautiful, inside and out, and we wish you a long and happy marriage filled with love, laughter, and lots of FUN!

alena + robert :: greensboro engagement photographer

They met while in college, both working at the local Best Buy. Maybe it was those stunning blue polos that first attracted them to one another, but they quickly became the best of friends, meeting one another for breakfast each morning. Little did they know that these were the first of many dates in their future.

They laugh and giggle in that brand new, puppy love kind of way, despite that they've been together for years, as they tell me the story of their beginnings, each interjecting their own versions and arguing over who liked who first (Alena is certain that it was she who liked him).

I met up with Alena and Robert on the campus of their alma mater, NC A&T University in Greensboro, to take their engagement photos. Despite traveling until 2 a.m. the night before the shoot to get to Greensboro from their home in Washington D.C. and a long day of cake tasting and DJ meetings that didn't allow time for lunch, these two were a true pleasure to spend the afternoon with.

Robert and Alena - thank you for allowing me to spend the afternoon with you and being so wonderful! I'm looking forward to a great time and lots of great photographs at your wedding in August!

weekend in nashville :: nashville photographer

I hope everyone had a very happy Easter! Josh and I just returned from a trip to Nashville to visit my family and boy did we have a good time. Nashville is very near and dear to my heart - I moved there from Mississippi right after I graduated high school and went to Belmont for my first three semesters of college, Josh and I were married in Nashville at the beautiful Scarritt-Bennett Center, and now, my family lives just outside of the city!

Every time I go to Nashville, I go with an agenda. This time, that agenda included having Shipley Donuts for breakfast (no Shipley in NC and they are my FAVORITE), taking a drip to downtown Nashville for the first time in over a year, and indulging in a Las Paletas popsicle (the absolute BEST popsicle you've ever tasted in your whole life)...

<---

You can get one here at Hot & Cold in Hillsboro Village....

and this is the face you make when you eat one because they're just so darn good. Mine was cantaloupe.

After we cooled down with that delicious treat, we headed to the waterfront to take a stroll down Broadway, which was packed with tourists. There's never a dull moment in downtown Nashville... the proof is in the pictures...

There were real Barbie dolls on the hood of this burger van.

These guys were awesome... who can resist a pup with dreads and sunglasses?!
