tony+tonika :: engaged :: greensboro engagement photographer

Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of spending the afternoon with Tonika and Tony. These two are so much fun and made the trip all the way from Atlanta for an awesome Greensboro engagement session. They'll be getting married next spring at the beautiful Empire and Regency Rooms at Elm Street Center downtown, complete with a Shutterbooth and cake from Delicious Bakery (two of my personal favorites)!

We started out at North Carolina A&T State University, where Tony studied engineering and Tonika was a business major. I had a great time with these two, taking advantage of the beautiful campus for some great images and listening to Tonika and Tony reminesce about classes and college life at their alma mater.

I love being able to capture those in-between moments of pure laughter, joy, happiness, and love. You can tell that these two truly enjoy each other's company.

After wrapping up the session in downtown Greensboro, instead of taking me up on my offer for a cup of coffee for the road, this precious couple treated ME to some cheesecake from Cheesecakes by Alex for Josh and me to enjoy at home! I know I brag on my brides  and grooms all the time, but seriously y'all, I work with the best couples in the world!

Tonika+Tony - I had SUCH a fabulous time with both of you at yesterday's session, and I can't wait for your wedding next May! Thank you again for your generosity (the cheesecake was DELISH), and I look forward to seeing y'all again soon!

walter+lila :: married :: blacksburg wedding photographer

This past weekend, I had the great pleasure of second shooting with the kind and talented Rebekah of Rebekah Loftis Photography. I headed up to Roanoke, Virginia on Friday night, since we were getting off to early start on Saturday, and I have to admit, it was definitely nice to have girls getaway and chat it up with Rebekah like two 11-year-old girls at a sleepover. We talked about photography, our own weddings, college, our husbands, jobs... you would have never known that we had just met one another for the first time that very day. I am so thankful that this industry has allowed to me to make so many new friends that I otherwise probably would have never known!

Walter and Lila, surely one of the most adorable couples I have ever seen, were married in a beautiful autumn outdoor ceremony at the Maison Beliveau Bed and Breakfast in Blacksburg. Their wedding was filled with so many beautiful details, all designed by Lila herself. There were blue mason jars as aisle decor, beautiful floral arrangements created by bridesmaid and friend Lynn of FloraLynn Designs (some of which included cotton bolls - I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS IDEA), table numbers with photos of the bride and groom at the age of the number, and even Jones soda customized with photos and drawings of the lovely couple.

I have to admit, spending so many weekends as the lead shooter, it's kind of nice to "relax", be told what to do, and just enjoy photographing a beautiful wedding. Here are a few of my favorites that I captured throughout the day...

IN LOVE with Lila's blue Manolos! They're also the same ones that adorned Carrie Bradshaw's feet in the Sex and the City movie.... SWOON!!

the friday five - a good week in the glessner house :: greensboro wedding photographer

This past week has been a bit of a whirlwind, to say the very least. I've been traveling alot lately - to Nashville last week and earlier this week spending quality time with my best friend Kaley, bride-to-be and great friend Kristin, the fam, and a fun engagement session with the lovely Brittany and Jeff. I'll be heading to Virginia this evening to assist fellow photographer Rebekah Loftis with a wedding tomorrow. Despite being really busy and a little stressed, this week has been great... maybe even one of the best in awhile.

So today's Friday Five is dedicated to my top five things that have made this week great:

1. You may remember this chic Navy+Pink stylized wedding shoot we posted on the blog a few weeks ago? We were so excited to have it featured on Wedding Chicks blog this week. A big shout out once again to all of our vendors who helped make the shoot come together: Sweetface Cakes, Riverwood Mansion, CHIC Nashville Weddings and Events, Brentwood Jewelry, Olia Zavozina Bridal, Ashley Rose Love, {anna.michelle Cards}, and Zia Art, Antiques and Flowers. Be sure to check out the feature on Wedding Chicks and leave us some love on their blog!

2. My new iPhone 4S arrived! If you know me, you know I'm not too much of a technology junkie (I leave that up to Josh), but I really needed a new phone and this thing is sweet. And the camera? To die for. Not to mention I got this GORG case that I found on Pinterest awhile back. Perfection.

3. Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream. Autumn is upon us, which means my life now revolves around cider, sweatshirts, and all things pumpkin. I found this little gem at The Fresh Market last night when I stopped in to pick up a couple of things for dinner and I just couldn't resist. Pumpkin ice cream with a whipped cream swirl and bits of pie crust. Tell me that doesn't sound A-MAZING.

4. Coffee with precious bride-to-be Kelsea, from our recent Dixie Classic Fair engagement session, at Delicious Bakery, complete with my usual Chai Tea Latte. A one hour meeting to discuss non-profit marketing strategies for Wish Upon a Wedding NC turned into a four hour conversation about the new Twilight movie, weddings, Disney, photography, and exchanging stories about how we met our significant others.

5. Quality time with my sweet husband catching up on our favorite shows - Modern Family being at the top of the list of course. That show never fails to make me laugh, but sometimes I fear that Phil Dunphy and Josh Glessner are the same person. Regardless, I love him. Alot.

And this little guy is always one of the best parts of my week! Taken using the Instagram app on the iPhone 4S.

Hoping y'all have a fabulous weekend and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!!!
