/They met while in college, both working at the local Best Buy. Maybe it was those stunning blue polos that first attracted them to one another, but they quickly became the best of friends, meeting one another for breakfast each morning. Little did they know that these were the first of many dates in their future.
They laugh and giggle in that brand new, puppy love kind of way, despite that they've been together for years, as they tell me the story of their beginnings, each interjecting their own versions and arguing over who liked who first (Alena is certain that it was she who liked him).
I met up with Alena and Robert on the campus of their alma mater, NC A&T University in Greensboro, to take their engagement photos. Despite traveling until 2 a.m. the night before the shoot to get to Greensboro from their home in Washington D.C. and a long day of cake tasting and DJ meetings that didn't allow time for lunch, these two were a true pleasure to spend the afternoon with.
