kerri leigh weddings + events :: high point branding consultant

This week, my friends, is a great week because it's website launch week for the new Kerri Leigh Weddings + Events!

I met Kerri last fall when we worked together on Becky and Ryan's wedding at Old Salem, and I was so excited when she came to me a few months ago, ready for a new look and feel for her event planning business. We set out to create a brand that was reflective of Kerri and her style, starting with a big, scary decision to change the name of her business (you may remember her as A-List Events).

We were on a massive time crunch, with Kerri expecting a little one in just a matter of days now, and because we're maybe just a little bit crazy, we decided to add a styled shoot to the mix, in addition to the branding, design, and website creation. After tons of emails, several phone calls, and lots of Starbucks, I'm so excited to reveal the all new online home of Kerri Leigh Weddings + Events ...

Be sure to visit Kerri's website, read her very first blog post, and check out her new branded social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram, too - you'll want to be sure to follow her on those sites to watch out for photos and a HUGE GIVEAWAY from our recent inspiration shoot, coming soon!

featured :: tailored occasions :: greensboro engagement photographer

Today, I am so excited to be featured on the blog of local wedding planner Tailored Occasions Event Planning and Design.  I'm honored to call Allyson a friend and a colleague - between designing her website, photographing her headshots, planning projects together like our proposal planning collaboration, and carpooling to our monthly Making Things Happen group in Chapel Hill, I've had the opportunity to get to know Allyson quite well over the past year.

Needless to say, when she asked, I was more than happy to write a guest blog for her readers about preparing for an engagement session. Check out my post, 7 Ways to Dress Your Best for an Engagement Session, here!

Many thanks to Allyson for featuring us!

workshop :: amy lynne originals :: winston-salem wedding photographer

A couple of weeks ago, I got an email from my friend Amy, owner and creative mind behind Amy Lynne Originals, asking if I'd be willing to take a few photos at her upcoming workshop, and I was more than happy to accommodate. I first met Amy working together at Tim and Ashlea's Childress Vineyards wedding a couple of years ago and have since had the opportunity to photograph her headshots and get to know her and her work a bit better. She is an amazingly gifted floral designer based in Winston-Salem, and I am so thrilled that she has begun offering these classes for everyday folks like you and me.

This particular workshop was BYOC - Bring Your Own Container - and Amy provided some awesome instruction for creating the perfect floral design using what you have. She supplied a varied assortment of flowers and filler for her attendees to use, and honestly, it was so much fun and so educational, even for me and I wasn't even a student!

Floral design really is an artform, and I just love how much personality and individuality shines through each person's creation. These were the final products of the workshop attendees:
