Caroline and Ryan were a true joy to work with on my first wedding of the year!. After a beautiful week of sunshine and 70s, we were met with rain and cold weather on their big day. But being the glass-half-full people that they are, they didn't let it get them down, letting the most important part of their wedding take precedent - the fact that they had the great privilege on that day to commit to an eternity by each other's side.

While Ryan and the guys were getting ready nearby, Caroline was becoming a bride at her parents' home in Advance, where the big event was held...

Few things make me happier than seeing this kind of happiness on a bride's face on the wedding day :)

Seriously, you two... it does not get any more gorgeous than this!

When your name is Caroline, of course a "Sweet Caroline" serenade is called for...

When I first met Chris and Aksana via Skype, I knew they were going to be such a great couple to photograph. They know how to laugh and have a good time, and they're the kind of people who have the ability to make anyone feel welcome and included in the fun.

Their wedding had a travel theme and included so many wonderful cultural traditions, as Aksana hails from Belarus and Chris's heritage is Chinese-Malaysian and Italian. Guests traveled from around the globe to attend their beautiful celebration at the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Gardens in Kernersville, NC, planned by the fabulous Shaunda Eggleston of E'MAGINE Weddings and Events.

These two are just so photogenic! I could photograph them all. day. long.

The reception began with a traditional eastern European bread and salt ceremony...

The groom's family led them in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony...

Aksana being a dancer herself, it only made sense that she would have lots of dancing at her wedding. Two different dance troupes filled with friends of the bride from Winston-Salem and her current city of Memphis, TN, performed...

Austin and Ann Marie (or Ammie, as she's called by her friends and family) are one of the most vibrant, kind, and fun-loving couples I've ever had the honor of working with. If you spend any amount of time with them, they'll quickly make you feel welcome and comfortable, and you'll soon realize just how much they love one another.

I've gotten to know the two of them over the past several months from our initial meeting to their engagement session and most recently, Ammie's bridal session, and I knew that their wedding would be one to remember with the help of Faye from Coordinating Dreams. We started off the day with the bridal party getting ready at WinMock at Kinderton...

Without seeing each other, Austin and Ann Marie took a moment to pray together before they headed to the church. There wasn't a dry eye in the room...

Once everyone arrived at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Ammie's father saw her for the first time. His face was priceless!

After a beautiful ceremony, everyone headed back to WinMock for the evening's festivities. The bridal party were such troopers, toughing it out in the heat and humidity to get some great photos...

You gotta love a group of groomsmen with personality... check out their superhero socks!

Ammie and her friends treated guests at their reception to a choreographed dance number...
