Austin and Ann Marie (or Ammie, as she's called by her friends and family) are one of the most vibrant, kind, and fun-loving couples I've ever had the honor of working with. If you spend any amount of time with them, they'll quickly make you feel welcome and comfortable, and you'll soon realize just how much they love one another.

I've gotten to know the two of them over the past several months from our initial meeting to their engagement session and most recently, Ammie's bridal session, and I knew that their wedding would be one to remember with the help of Faye from Coordinating Dreams. We started off the day with the bridal party getting ready at WinMock at Kinderton...

Without seeing each other, Austin and Ann Marie took a moment to pray together before they headed to the church. There wasn't a dry eye in the room...

Once everyone arrived at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Ammie's father saw her for the first time. His face was priceless!

After a beautiful ceremony, everyone headed back to WinMock for the evening's festivities. The bridal party were such troopers, toughing it out in the heat and humidity to get some great photos...

You gotta love a group of groomsmen with personality... check out their superhero socks!

Ann Marie and Austin, who you may remember from their Boone engagement session earlier this year, were married this past weekend in a beautiful celebration at St. Leo's Catholic Church and WinMock at Kinderton, and today, I am so excited to be able to share Ann Marie's bridal portraits taken at Old Salem and the Salem College campus in Winston-Salem, NC. 

We met up on a lovely sunny summer day to photograph the beautiful bride for the first time in her wedding attire, accompanied by her mom and sister. I just love Ann Marie's joyful spirit and her laid-back, do-anything attitude, and I had so much fun getting to spend the afternoon with her and her family! 

If you spend any time around Ann Marie, you'll quick learn that she loves to laugh and have a good time. I loved being able to capture this joy in many of her bridal portraits.

chris+lisa :: married :: winston-salem wedding photographer

Chris and Lisa are the kind of people you just really want to be around. They're fun, laid back, and full of joy, and they both have this way of making you feel like you've known them forever. It's obvious that we aren't the only ones that feel that way... on their wedding day, they were surrounded by friends and family throughout the getting ready process and all the way through the evening's party celebrating their marriage with hugs, laughter, and libations.

Both of Chris and Lisa's families made us feel so incredibly welcome - less like hired vendors and more like one of their own. Getting the chance to work with people like them makes doing what we already love that much more exciting!

I love it when a couple doesn't take themselves too seriously, and Lisa and Chris DEFINITELY know how to ​have fun!

Lisa and her sister, Kristen, have such a special relationship with one another. They shared laughter, lots of hugs, and a couple of tearful moments throughout the day. Not only are they siblings, but they're the very best of friends ​- it meant so much to me to see the bond between these two girls and be able to capture them together.

Chris, Lisa, and their bridal party and families surprised the crowd during the introductions with their rendition of the Harlem Shake...​

The sweet moments between a father and a daughter during their dance together get me every. single. time.​

What a lucky guy! Lisa surprised Chris with season tickets for the Carolina Panthers stashed in her garter :)​

Chris and Lisa - Thank y'all so much for letting us be part of this special occasion and making us feel so welcome! Hope y'all are living it up during your last few days in Turks and Caicos, and we wish you all the best for a long and joyous life together!​
