nan+jason :: expecting :: mississippi lifestyle photographer

You may remember Nan and Jason from their wedding that I photographed back in 2011. I've known Nancy Claire since the second grade, and I was so overjoyed when she told me that she and her husband were expecting their first child. Nan's always had a maternal instinct, so it was no surprise that she was the first out of our group of high school friends to join the mommy club :)

Little Penn will be making his appearance in January, but for now, we have some lovely images of his parents as they anticipate his arrival. I traveled to Mississippi this weekend for only a few short hours to capture these moments, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day... the weather wasn't too cool and the rain stayed away long enough to get lots of beautiful photos. We started off the session at the Rogers-Green House in downtown Laurel, Mississippi, where Nan and Jason were married. I think it is something really special to have two major events in their lives documented a the same beautiful location...

Isn't Nan absolutely radiant? I loved this delicate, feminine blouse she chose to wear for her maternity portraits.

Next, we headed across the street to the beautiful garden in front of St. John's Episcopal Church. This series of photos might just be my absolute favorites from the session (although it's certainly difficult to choose favorites)...

This golden yellow leaves fallen in front of the Wisteria Bed and Breakfast made an absolutely beautiful autumn backdrop...

We headed to Nan's grandparents house for a few final photos... I love that we included a place where I know Nan herself spent so much time as a child, and I'm certain Penn will be spending a lot of time there visiting his great-grandparents, too.

Nan+Jason :: Thank you so much for allowing me to continue to photograph and be part of all the major milestones of your lives. I know you two are going to be amazing parents. Soak up these last few weeks before you become a family of three, and I look forward to meeting baby Penn!
