You may have seen Katherine's classically stunning bridal portraits on the blog earlier this week or you may remember this adorable couple from their very J.Crew-esque engagement photos last fall.

J.P. and Katherine were married this past weekend in a beautiful backyard wedding very reminiscent of a traditional Southern garden party. The ceremony and reception took place at the bride's childhood home in the quaint North Carolina town of Asheboro. Their wedding was filled with many beautiful and elegant details and just enough rain for a little good luck.

I just love a sweet mother/daughter moment on a wedding day...​

J.P. and Katherine elected to do a First Look to allow for a private moment together, more time for photos, and less stress in their schedule. This is always one of my favorite moments of the day.​

Aren't they just gorgeous? These two certainly belong in the pages of a magazine.​

reunited and it feels so good :: high point photographer

This past weekend was one I had been anticipating for months... months, people. Each year or so, a group of my girlfriends from Belmont University and I try to plan a girls weekend, and finally, after nearly two years since our last ​reunion in the Outer Banks, we were all together once again at my house here in North Carolina.

​It's crazy how much our lives have changed in just four years... Christina is engaged and officially a doctor, Claire will be married and graduated from P.A. school by the end of the year, Megan has already been through grad school and is an academic advisor at a university half way across the country, and Kaley owns her own business and is an aspiring country artist. We all have different dreams and we're each in different places in life and geographically, but somehow, we always manage to pick things up right where we left off. It's a rare find to have a group of people who are invested in each other's lives for the long haul (like always having an encouraging word... or a lecture dragged out over the course of three days :) ... to give you the kick in the pants you need), and I thank my lucky stars to have such an amazing group of women to call my friends.

​The weekend was filled with cupcakes, Riesling and margaritas, some incredibly amusing wedding dress shopping experiences, sleep deprivation, road trip sing-a-longs, and mostly laughing so hard that I thought I legitimately might die. ​And finally, we got a group photo...

I can't wait to see what the next year brings for everyone, and I'm already looking forward to the next reunion!!

ana+dara :: in love :: winston-salem lifestyle photographer

When Ana contacted me a few months ago wanting some portraits of her and her new husband who were married last fall, I was completely on board. Ana came to me with an idea of shooting for a princess theme. We wanted to keep it very whimsical and glamorous - kind of a modern, grown-up version of a fairytale - and I am ecstatic with the way the images turned out.

Spring House Restaurant in Winston-Salem was so kind to allow us to use their space, and their outdoor courtyard area with it's mix of the natural elements in the midst of a more urban area is just lovely - almost like a secret garden in the city.

We started off the afternoon with a few casual photos of Ana and Dara - just as they are...

I absolutely ADORE Ana's dress, and she looked truly stunning (just like a princess) in it!

These final three images may be my absolute favorites from the entire day. When Ana twirled in her dress, she looked like a giddy little girl playing dress up in her mother's closet, and I am in LOVE with the lighthearted, joyous feeling that brought to the photos.
